Man, I need to join your credit union. I make $60K a year and went to get a loan for a $12,000 car with 20% down and my CU told me to go fuck off.

That was then this is now.

It was the Ocean City Employees Federal Credit Union which was then run out of a boarding house by a Union member. They didn't look at my credit score, didn't care how old I was etc. Sign here, pick up the check on Tuesday. Have a nice day. You had to be a municipal employee to even get in and there were people waiting for years to be members. I knew a guy so I joined when I was 15...

Maybe you are in one of those CU's that anyone can join and/or maybe they have "wised" up. This was in the 1980s when I was a member.
